A special auction is set to take place tomorrow at McTear’s to raise funds for Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital Charity. More than 100 lots of whisky and related items will be up for bidding, with rare whisky donated by distilleries like Bunnahabhain, Springbank, Nc’nean, LAGG, Bowmore, Balvenie, Ardbeg, and Glenfiddich.
The auction will feature whisky artwork and memorabilia, with standout items including a 25-year-old bottle of Balvenie Marriages and a 1998 Glenfiddich Distillery Exclusive. The auction organizer, Steve McGill, expressed gratitude for the support received from the art and whisky community, emphasizing the importance of supporting such a worthy cause.
In addition to the whisky, there will be artwork up for auction, including a rare hand-colored studio proof of the print ‘My Relationship with Whiskey’ by The Connor Brothers. Other items like ‘A Wee Dram’ by Graham McKean, hand-blown whisky tumblers, distillery breaks, tours, and rare whisky books will also be available for bidding, catering to various budgets.
All proceeds from the auction, including the buyer’s premium, will go directly to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. McTear’s managing director, Brian Clements, highlighted the longstanding support of the charity by McTear’s and expressed enthusiasm for being involved in such a meaningful event.
