A trio from Scotland is introducing a new coffee tequila brand called Jalisgow, which they describe as a blend of Mexican spirit with a Scottish heart. The launch of this premium coffee-infused tequila took place on Tuesday, and it has already secured listings at various bars in Glasgow.

Distilled in small batches at Hacienda de Reyes in Tequila, Mexico, Jalisgow is versatile and can be enjoyed as shots or in cocktails. The name Jalisgow is a combination of Glasgow and Jalisco, the region in Mexico where the tequila is made.

The idea for Jalisgow came about three years ago when friends Adam Alzadjally, Kieran Woods, and Stewart Weir noticed a gap in the spirits market. They have worked hard to perfect the blend, ensuring that the rich Colombian coffee flavor complements the smooth taste of tequila. The recommended way to enjoy Jalisgow is chilled.

During the development process, the team tested various percentages of alcohol content and settled on 30% to achieve the desired flavor profile. They were inspired to create Jalisgow after noticing the absence of Cafe Patron in bars and venues.

When visiting the distillery in Jalisco, the team was surprised to see doors imported from the shipbuilding industry in Glasgow being used as oven doors for cooking agave. This unique connection between Scotland and Mexico reinforced their decision to produce the tequila in Jalisco.

The brand has already gained popularity among Glasgow bars, with several establishments, including The Finnieston, Lebowskis, and Wunderbar, stocking Jalisgow. The team is thrilled with the positive response and support from the local community.

Priced at £38, Jalisgow offers a unique drinking experience that combines the best of Mexican and Scottish flavors. For more information, visit the brand’s website.
