Record-Breaking Year for Glasgow Shopping Centre

In a bustling city like Glasgow, where shopping is not just a pastime but a way of life, one shopping centre stands out among the rest. Silverburn, located on Barrhead Road in the Southside, has achieved a monumental feat in 2024 by breaking its own records and setting new standards for success in the retail industry.

Unprecedented Foot Traffic and Sales Surge

Celebrating a “record-breaking” boost in visitor numbers and sales, Silverburn welcomed an impressive 15.2 million visitors in 2024. This marked a significant increase from the previous year, surpassing the 2023 record by 42,000 visitors. The month of December alone saw a 2.4% rise in foot traffic, indicating a strong end to the year for the shopping centre.

New additions to the centre, such as H Beauty, Hotel Chocolat, Black Sheep Coffee, Jack & Jones, King Pins, and a new Zara store, have undoubtedly contributed to this success. These new shops have brought in fresh energy and excitement, attracting more visitors and boosting sales across various categories.

Thriving Retail and Dining Scene

Not only has Silverburn seen a surge in visitor numbers, but sales have also experienced a notable increase. Health and beauty, sports fashion, restaurants, and travel brands have reported some of the highest sales figures, indicating a diverse range of offerings that cater to the varied interests of shoppers.

During the festive season, popular brands like Zara, JD Sports, The White Company, and Rituals saw a spike in sales, while dining hotspots like Wagamama and Nando’s were bustling with hungry shoppers looking for a delicious meal. Silverburn even recorded its second busiest day on December 23, hosting over 89,000 guests eager to partake in the holiday shopping frenzy.

A Commitment to Excellence

David Pierotti, the general manager for Silverburn, expressed his gratitude for the continued support from loyal customers and the dedication of the team in providing a premium shopping and leisure experience. He emphasized the centre’s ability to evolve with changing consumer needs and highlighted the upcoming year as another exciting chapter in Silverburn’s success story.

As we look ahead to 2025, one thing is clear: Silverburn is not just a shopping centre; it is a dynamic hub of activity that caters to a diverse customer base with precision and care. With a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Silverburn is poised to maintain its position as a top-tier retail destination in Glasgow, setting new benchmarks for excellence in the industry.
