So, like, here’s the scoop, brought to you by our buds over at USA Today, thanks to our cool partnership with them. Just a heads up, this article isn’t necessarily the gospel truth according to The Herald, but it’s all good.

So, get this, CELTIC are thinking about snatching up Aberdeen’s Ross Doohan, who’s like a free agent goalie now. Scott Bain, who’s currently the third wheel in goal at Parkhead, might dip out after the Scottish Cup Final to find a starting gig. And guess who’s on the shortlist to fill his spot? You got it, Ross Doohan.

In the Champions League, teams gotta have like eight Scottish players on their squad, with at least four of ’em coming up through the club’s youth system. Doohan, who spent a solid seven years at Celtic’s Lennoxtown academy, fits the bill after making 18 appearances for Jimmy Thelin’s squad this season.

After getting scooped up from Forest Green Rovers in 2023, the 27-year-old stepped in for Aberdeen’s main man, Dimitar Mitov. But then he got benched for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts. Drama, right?

Doohan’s contract at Pittodrie is about to run out this summer, and Thelin’s been yapping about contract talks. But word on the street is Aberdeen’s looking to snag another goalie this summer, since their backup Tom Ritchie’s also flying the coop. Funny enough, Doohan’s last hurrah with Aberdeen could be facing off against Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden on May 24.
