A popular restaurant in Glasgow recently celebrated its 20th birthday after winning the hit TV show Come Dine With Me.
Red Onion, located in the city center, marked the special occasion with a mouth-watering dessert that had everyone talking. Chef John Quigley proudly posed with the dish and expressed his gratitude to his loyal customers, colleagues, and his wife, Gillian, for their unwavering support over the years.
John, along with his daughter Rosie, impressed viewers when they competed on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals in July 2022. The dynamic duo went up against other talented restaurateurs, serving up delicious dishes like seared Barra scallops, Gressingham duck breast, and vanilla cheesecake with salted passionfruit caramel.
Reflecting on their win, John shared, “We were so excited to come out on top! It’s been a wonderful experience getting to know our fellow contestants and connecting with other restaurateurs here in Glasgow. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we have all become friends and are enjoying this journey together.”
The victory not only brought home a £1000 prize but also the coveted Come Dine With Me trophy, solidifying Red Onion’s reputation as a top dining destination in the city.
