rangers-defeats-aberdeen-4-0-at-brox-ending-winless-streak

Barry Ferguson finally nabbed his debut Ibrox victory as Rangers boss on the sixth try, celebrating a smashing 4-0 win over Aberdeen in the William Hill Premiership.

The game started off a bit dull, with not much happening in the first half. But then Vaclav Cerny of Gers broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, followed by Cyriel Dessers doubling the lead just five minutes later. Substitute Hamza Igamane then scored in the 70th minute, and left-back Jefte sealed the deal with a lucky goal in added time.

This win marked the first home victory for the Light Blues since they defeated Ross County on February 2. Ferguson, who took over as interim manager until the end of the season in the same month, had been struggling with five winless games before this breakthrough.

With just two matches left in the season, Aberdeen, who are set to face off in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup finals, sit three points behind third-placed Hibernian. Their second-half collapse against Rangers surely left them disappointed.

The victory was a much-needed one for Rangers and Ferguson. Fans, however, are eagerly awaiting the takeover by an American consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises, as the team faces the prospect of ending the season without a trophy.

The game didn’t start with much energy, especially with a lot of empty seats in the stadium. Dessers had a chance in the 22nd minute but missed the target, and then came close again five minutes later with a header that went wide. Aberdeen’s Topi Keskinen also had a shot on goal that was saved by Rangers’ keeper Liam Kelly.

The real action heated up just before halftime when Dessers scored a goal, only to have it disallowed by VAR for offside. Aberdeen’s Oday Dabbagh then found the back of the net, but his goal was also ruled out for being offside.

As the second half kicked off, Igamane came on for Bajrami, while Aberdeen made some changes as well. The Dons looked lively initially, with Keskinen hitting the post with a shot. However, it was Rangers who broke the deadlock when Cerny slotted the ball past the Aberdeen keeper after a pass from Raskin.

Dessers then redeemed himself with a goal, extending Rangers’ lead. Igamane added a touch of magic with a stunning volley from outside the box, securing the third goal for Rangers. The team continued to press forward, with Mitov making saves and Jefte scoring a final goal off Cerny’s shot from outside the box.

Not really sure why this matters, but it seems like Rangers finally found their winning formula under Ferguson’s leadership. With the season coming to a close, this victory brings hope to the fans and sets the stage for an exciting future.
