conic-beauty-brand-discontinuing-products-after-25-years

A super popular British beauty brand is gonna be disappearing from store shelves, folks. Unilever just spilled the tea that REN Clean Skincare is getting the boot after a good run of 25 years. The big bosses over at the parent company blame “internal factors” and “market challenges” for this decision.

In a statement, Unilever said, “After chatting it out with everyone, we’ve sadly decided to start shutting down the REN business. It’s been a tough call, but a mix of stuff going on inside the company, plus some tough times in the market lately, has made it hard for the brand to keep going strong in the long run.”

They also gave props to the REN team for all their hard work over the years, saying, “We gotta give it up for the REN crew for all they’ve done in the past 25 years. They really put clean skincare on the map and made some positive changes for people and the planet.”

Unilever expects to wrap things up by the end of the third quarter of 2025, but they haven’t set a specific closing date yet. This move comes after trying and failing to sell both REN and Kate Somerville last year, according to a report by Sky News in August 2023.

Unilever snagged REN Clean Skincare back in 2015, adding it to their fancy lineup of beauty brands. REN became known for its dedication to clean ingredients and eco-friendly packaging, building a loyal following in the UK and beyond.

So, there you have it, folks. REN Clean Skincare is saying goodbye after 25 years in the game. Not really sure why this matters, but it’s a bummer for fans of the brand. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like it’s always sad to see a popular product go away.
