The Glasgow International Comedy Festival (GICF) is back for its 2025 edition, and this time, it promises to be bigger and funnier than ever before. From March 12 to 30, 2025, the city will come alive with laughter as some of the biggest names in comedy take the stage.
One of the most anticipated acts of the festival is the former first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who will be headlining alongside the infamous Frankie Boyle. Joining them will be Susie McCabe, Val McDermid, and many others, all ready to tickle your funny bone.
The festival will feature a wide range of comedy genres, from traditional stand-up to live podcasts, clowning, improv, theatre, children’s shows, and even musicals. This year, there will be something for everyone, no matter what type of comedy you enjoy.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the live podcast, Here Comes The Guillotine, featuring Frankie Boyle, Susie McCabe, and Christopher MacArthur-Boyd. This will be the first live show of the podcast, promising a night of laughs and entertainment.
Susie McCabe, the 2024 Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award winner, will also be showcasing her new show, Best Behaviour, at the festival. With over 175 shows already confirmed, 10,000 tickets sold, and 21 venues registered, the organizers are confident that this year’s festival will be one of the biggest yet. Krista MacDonald, the festival director, expressed her excitement about celebrating Glasgow as the “funniest city in the world” and bringing together hundreds of comedians and performers to entertain audiences across the city.

Venues like The King’s Theatre, Oran Mor, The Stand Comedy Club, SEC Armadillo, Blackfriars, Platform, and The Old Hairdressers will be hosting events throughout the festival, ensuring that laughter will be heard in every corner of the city.
