Exciting New £200,000 Play Area with Zipline Now Open in Town
A thrilling new £200,000 play area has just been unveiled for children at Springfield Park in Bishopbriggs. This exciting addition, funded by the Scottish Government’s Renewing Scotland’s Play Park Funding and East Dunbartonshire Council’s Capital Funding, boasts the largest multi-play unit in East Dunbartonshire.
Unveiling the Play Area
The play area features a plethora of engaging elements, including chutes, climbing frames, monkey bars, and inclusive games panels. Additionally, there is a smaller multi-play unit designed for younger children, a balance trail, see-saw, roundabout, large rope swing, and an impressive 30-meter zipline that promises endless fun and adventure.
Community Involvement and Official Opening
Councillor Paul Ferretti, convener of the council’s place, neighbourhood, and corporate assets committee, had the honor of officially opening the play area. He expressed his delight in involving the community in selecting the final design for the project, noting that the chosen design has already captured the hearts of the young residents of Bishopbriggs.
Councillor Ferretti shared, “It was a joy to see children from Wester Cleddens Primary School join us at the grand opening to experience the wonderful new play area firsthand. I am confident that this space will witness countless hours of joy and play for many years to come.”
Inclusive and Nature-Themed Features
The newly unveiled play area is equipped with a disability-friendly path, nature-themed equipment, and a state-of-the-art safety surface. Among the new additions are an inclusive swing set, spinning bowl, cone climber, sensory play panels, and the beloved basket swing that promises endless laughter and excitement for children of all abilities.
With these remarkable features, the play area at Springfield Park is set to become a cherished hub of fun and memories for the entire Bishopbriggs community.
