BAFTA-nominated actor Hugh Bonneville, famous for his role as Mr. Brown in the Paddington film series, brought smiles to the faces of young patients at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children. The children were in for a treat as they were treated to a special screening of Paddington in Peru at the hospital’s MediCinema.
Hugh Bonneville not only introduced the film to the young adventurers but also handed out soft Paddington bear toys, spreading joy and laughter. The children were thrilled to meet one of the actual people from the movie and had the opportunity to ask questions during the premiere.
The special screening took place on November 6, just two days before the film’s official release, making the young patients some of the first in the UK to experience Paddington’s latest adventure. The excitement was palpable as Paddington Bear himself made a surprise appearance, adding to the magic of the evening.
Lucas, one of the young patients at the hospital, expressed his delight, saying, “I enjoyed everything about tonight, it was amazing. This has been my favorite movie experience – Paddington is my new number one.”
Paul Giggal, the chief operating officer of MediCinema, described the visit as a true joy for the patients and their families. He mentioned that seeing the film before its public release was the icing on the cake, or rather, the marmalade on the sandwich.
Kirsten Watson, the chief executive officer of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, expressed her team’s delight at welcoming Hugh Bonneville and Paddington Bear to the hospital. Their visit brought smiles and laughter to the young patients, creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
The heartwarming event not only brought happiness to the children but also highlighted the importance of bringing joy and entertainment to those who need it most. The generosity and kindness shown by Hugh Bonneville and Paddington Bear brought a ray of sunshine to the hospital, making the day truly special for all. Paddington in Peru will be hitting UK cinemas on November 8, spreading joy and laughter to audiences of all ages.
