Dauntless Triumphs in Celtic Connections Festival’s Battle of the Folk Bands
In a musical showdown that left audiences captivated, the Celtic Connections festival kicked off its highly anticipated Battle of the Folk Bands at Drygate. Among the five new bands vying for a coveted spot at next year’s festival, Dauntless emerged victorious, showcasing their dynamic trio arrangements and undeniable talent.

The Jack Houston Band, comprised of Eòghainn Beaton, Megan MacDonald, Jack Houston, Galen Brook, and Nicky Kirk, took the stage alongside Beatha, Dàna, Dauntless, and Lussa. Each group brought their unique twist to Scottish traditional music, from Beatha’s Celtic style to Dàna’s all-female sound, Dauntless’ trio arrangements, Lussa’s global influences, and The Jack Houston Band’s fusion of Scottish and Irish music.
