Rangers Academy Players Bring Holiday Joy to Children’s Hospital
Rangers FC Academy players and staff recently took time out of their busy schedules to spread some holiday cheer at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. On Thursday, November 28, volunteers from the club’s charity foundation dedicated their day to decorating the hospital for the festive season, bringing smiles to patients, families, and staff alike.
Partnership with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity
As part of their ongoing partnership with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, the Rangers Charity Foundation has pledged to raise £10,000 this season. A portion of this amount will go towards funding the Christmas decorations adorning the hospital, while the remainder will be used to purchase essential sleep monitoring equipment for the facility.
Kirsten Watson, CEO of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, expressed her gratitude for the Foundation’s continued support, particularly during the holiday season. She highlighted the positive impact of the decorations on the hospital environment, noting that they bring joy and comfort to children, families, and staff during what can be a challenging time of year.
Longstanding Relationship and Support
The Rangers Charity Foundation has maintained a special relationship with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity for over two decades. In addition to financial contributions, the foundation has donated toys, equipment, and organized various activities and visits for the young patients.
Rachael Cosgrove, charity executive at the Foundation, extended her thanks to the Rangers Academy players, staff, and volunteers for their efforts in decorating the hospital wards. She emphasized the importance of spreading Christmas cheer to both the children and hospital staff, highlighting the special bond between the Foundation and the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Impactful Community Engagement
The heartwarming gesture by the Rangers Academy players and staff serves as a reminder of the positive impact sports organizations can have on their local communities. By dedicating their time and resources to bring joy to those in need, the Rangers Charity Foundation exemplifies the spirit of giving back and making a difference in the lives of others.
In a world often overshadowed by competition and rivalries, it is refreshing to see sports teams come together to support a common cause and brighten the days of those facing adversity. The simple act of decorating a hospital ward can bring immeasurable joy to children and families, creating lasting memories and spreading hope during challenging times.
