A church in the East End is planning to spread some holiday cheer by creating a new tradition. A Gospel Christmas in Dennistoun will be held at TEAM Church on Whitehill Street, with all proceeds going to the Everlasting Foodbank located within the church.
The event organizer, Ifedade Thomas, shared that the goal is to support the community and make a positive impact. The night will include performances by a gospel choir and band, a raffle, and festive snacks.
Ifedade, a church member and talented musician, envisions this event becoming an annual tradition that unites the East End. He hopes to eventually bring the event to the Barrowlands in the future.
The group aims to convey a message of giving back, inspired by the belief in giving because one has received. This sentiment is reflected in the event’s support of the Everlasting Foodbank and its Holiday Hunger for Kids program.
Local businesses have generously donated prizes for the raffle, further demonstrating community support. The event is not only a celebration of Christmas and faith but also an opportunity for families and individuals to come together.
A Gospel Christmas in Dennistoun is scheduled for December 14 at 7pm at TEAM Church. Tickets are available on a donation basis through Eventbrite, emphasizing inclusivity and community involvement. This initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of giving back and spreading joy during the holiday season.
